| I am working hard on constituency issues and I am keeping in regular contact with constituents through my walkabouts and constituency clinics. I am picking up a very clear message of disquiet and concern over the way a number of matters are being addressed by Government. We are all faced with a massive task to come through this difficult period and like most people, I share your frustration on some of the issues that have unfolded. Most people want to see decisive action in order to address and resolve our difficulties. Equally, the people responsible whose actions got us into this situation must be held accountable. I am eager to get down to the task of getting us moving again. Our ‘can do’ attitude has characterised our success before, all the more necessary now. We should not underestimate our challenges or overstate our difficulties, most importantly we should be positive about our future. This is a challenging time and together we can and will deal with these current difficulties. The European and Local Government Elections are due to be held on the 5th June and I will be canvassing over the next few weeks. I would greatly appreciate if you could assist at some stage during the campaign. Our ability to work together has never been more important. I very much look forward to hearing from you. |
